Are you dreaming of a safe and secure place to call your very own?

Those dreams can become reality!

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Stark and Carroll Counties doesn’t give hand-outs. Instead, we provide an opportunity for homeownership to families who can’t afford a conventional bank loan for a home. Through a partnership with qualifying partner families, volunteers and sponsors, our homes are sold at no profit with zero-interest mortgages.

The process of becoming a homeowner through Habitat includes the following steps:

Qualification

In order to build a home with Habitat, you must meet three basic requirements.
1.   I have a need for decent housing.
2.   I have the ability to pay for a home.
3.   I am willing to partner with Habitat.

Orientation

Attendance at an orientation meeting, held once a month, is required for your application to move forward.

Application

You will need to complete all necessary paperwork, and a home visit will be scheduled and performed by a team from the Family Selection Committee.

Fulfillment of Sweat Equity Hours

Once accepted, your family will begin completing your required number of sweat equity hours through working on other Habitat homes, attending homeowner education classes and finally building your own home!
