Those dreams can become reality!

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Stark and Carroll Counties doesn’t give hand-outs. Instead, we provide an opportunity for homeownership to families who can’t afford a conventional bank loan for a home. Through a partnership with qualifying families, volunteers and sponsors, our homes are sold at no profit with zero-interest mortgages.

The process of becoming a homeowner through Habitat includes the following steps:

Qualification

In order to build a home with Habitat, you must meet three basic requirements.
1.   I have a need for decent housing.
2.   I have the ability to pay for a home.
3.   I am willing to partner with Habitat.

Application

You will need to complete all necessary paperwork, and a home visit will be scheduled and performed by a team from the Family Selection Committee.

Fulfillment of Sweat Equity Hours

Once pre-approved, your household will begin completing sweat equity hours. Working on other Habitat homes, the ReStore attending homeowner education classes and finally building your own home!
